Organizing and de-cluttering my makeup!

This is the disaster that was my makeup storage this morning. It definitely needed some reorganizing and sorting, so I decided to take you guys with me! You're in for a long one, so bear with me.

This is the top drawer of my makeup container-thingie. It holds pencils (eye and lip) single eyeshadows, lip products and perfumes. As you can see it is in urgent need of a tidying.

This is everything that was in the first drawer, I will systematically sort through things as I wish to storage them and throw away some things as I go along.

Lippies! Probably my favourite makeup product, just because of how a bright lip makes me feel.

The round container is part of the packaging for the Beautyblender, but it works perfect for storing lipsticks! I put everything in upside down, so I have a clear overview of the colours and don't have to dig through everything just to find the lipstick I am looking for. I threw out a lipstick by Catrice I never use and some old lipglosses.

This doesn't need much explaining, I guess. Just all my pencils stored in a way that I can see what I am grabbing. Threw out a few old/not very good pencils.

This is pretty simple. Devided eyeshadows in creams and pigmens in one box and single pressed powder shadows plus eyeshadow base and browgel in the other.

Here is everything I tossed from this drawer. An old Beautyblender, an old mascara, old browgels, lipglosses and pencils.

Here's a few extra shots of my little helper, Kira. Kira is a 5 year old Dalmatian and likes to get her nose in anything that goes on in the house!

And here's the finished result! A very accessible drawer and a lot less cluttered.

This chaotic mess is all my eyeshadow palettes, blushes, bronzers, highlighters, powders, foundations and concealers. Just looking at this gives me a headache.

These are the contents of the drawer, just piled on my floor. As you can see there is a bit of everything.

In the back of drawer I put my large 88 Warm palette from Coastal Scents as it just doesn't fit anywhere else. In a large box infront of it I put all my smaller palettes. This isn't the prettiest way to store them, but it gives me an easy overlook and makes choosing much easier.

In the front of the drawer I lined up my foundations and bases. No particular order, as I won't keep them that way anyway.

I filled the leftover space in the drawer with a large box, containing all my concealers, highlighters, powders, bronzers and blushes. It's not really in particular order, but I can see the packaging so I can see what I am grabbing easily enough.

Stuff I tossed: Catrice bronzer that is WAY too orange for me. Old Catrice blusher that was starting to smell funky. Max Factor cream blush that does not work very well with my skintype. Empty Maybelline concealer. Catrice limited edition highlighter that doesn't wear very nicely and an MNY blusher that has giant chunky and no real colour to it.

The finished result of my "face" drawer!

The very last drawer is a mix of a lot of things: Brush-roll for travelling, backups of bits and bobs, skin care and medicines. (And for some reason old cables...)

As you can see this drawer is a large mish-mash of things. Let's get it sorted!

Brushroll way in the back, then some medicine stuffs, then skincare and contactlens fluid, masks and deodorant and in the basket/box there's small bits and bobs. Testers of things and tubes that can't stand on their own. Also found another place to store the old cables.

The total of things I tossed! It felt really good to just get it de-cluttered and cleaned up. The medicine packaging still had some tablets left, which I am now keeping in another packaging. It was just a waste of space.

All three drawers lined up, looks much better now, right? I do this every few months, as I am just horrible at keeping it tidy, but I love getting it done. It makes working with my makeup so much easier!

Last bonus-shot of Kira getting a whiff of my Chanel Coco Mademoiselle.
